Hope in Action for Haiti supported over 100 children in attending school between 2024 and 2026. These 100+ children are in primary and secondary school. We supported 47 young people in attending university, studying business administration, nursing, medical technology, laboratory science, accounting, or education.
This year, 2025-2026, we sent 53 young people to vocational school. 42 of these young people are supported through a program that aims to protect youth from gangs. This program aims to give these young people hope and prevent them from joining gangs, given the regular recruitment efforts of gang groups. We train them in social, legal, entrepreneurial, and ethical matters. We equip them with a trade that can help them face life's challenges and support their families. Some young women who were already trying their hand at business are supported to grow their businesses.
Through this program, families who left their communities because of gangs are supported either to relocate or to create small survival businesses.
These young people are trained in electricity, plumbing, construction, computer skills, sewing, photography, Windows technology, and more. They are all driven by a desire to participate in changing their environment.
Support a child to go to school or a young person to learn a trade with $500 for one year.
Or a young person to go to university with $1000 for one year.
